AFPCN OFFICIAL STATEMENT: The South African Xenophobia Crisis—Evacuation is Not Enough.

The ongoing trauma faced by Nigerian citizens in South Africa demands more than diplomatic handwringing. As citizen-led "March and March" anti-immigrant protests and hostile ultimatums reached a boiling point on June 30, 2026, hundreds of our brothers and sisters have been forced to flee for their lives. They have abandoned thriving businesses, hard-earned properties, and vehicles to escape brutal physical threats.

The Association of Former Presidential Candidates of Nigeria (AFPCN) recognizes the emergency intervention efforts implemented by the Federal Government. However, as an advisory bloc committed to the survival and economic dignity of all Nigerians, we declare today that repatriation without economic restoration is an incomplete victory.
